Greetings from the High Sierra!

As winter approaches we just wanted to take a few minutes and update you on the 2015 camp season and what we have in store for 2016.

Our camp was as full as it’s been in many years! This year we welcomed families from all over California as well as many larger groups, including Cycle the Sierra, 4H, Sierra Health Services, and the American Motorcycle Association. Campers enjoyed the 2nd annual Grandparents Weekend. In addition, we added a “Family and Faith” weekend that we hope will continue to grow in popularity as well. At the beginning of August we welcomed almost 100 youth from Stockton as part of Mayor Silva’s Camp. In the coming year, we will focus our efforts on transitioning to our own youth program called Kids @ Kamp. Many campers made prereservations for 2016 and we are now in position to be full on every weekend during Family Camp.

We have set a date for the 2016 Spring dinner fundraiser. It will be held on Sunday, February 28th at the Italian Athletic Club in Stockton. Doors will open at 3pm with dinner served at 4pm. Chicken and Italian sausage cacciatore with polenta is on the menu once again. Tickets will be $40 per person or premium table sponsorships will be $500 or $1,000. We need donations for our raffle and auction. This is a great opportunity for members to help support the camp. Please contact Mandy Ponte at if you have items or services to donate.

We are in the process of renovating all the cabins. Two have been completed. Yours could be next! If you are interested in having the cabin you stay in renovated, contact us at or call Ron at (209) 227-0082 for more details. Photos of a renovated cabin can also be found on our website.

Many projects are still in the works at camp as part of our lease renewal agreement with the U.S. Forest Service. If you or someone you know has expertise in woodworking, masonry, painting, or another specialty, please contact us.

The opening weekend for the 2016 season will be July 1st. Our 4of July weekend has been growing in popularity over the last couple seasons. We encourage you to make a prereservation for this weekend so you don’t miss out!

As always, links to the fundraiser and pre-reservation information (available in December for the 2016 season) can be found on the web site by visiting

Hope to see you at the dinner and have a happy and safe holiday season!
